This fall I decided to offer some mini-sessions. I wasn’t sure how they would go, how I would like them and if clients would take advantage of them. I am now happy to say that even through we had to reschedule an entire day due to 35 mph winds they went beautifully, I loved them and since I was booked full I can assume clients took advantage of the opportunity. It made for really long days, but I had the chance to reconnect with people from high school and meet new clients I may not have otherwise. Thanks to everyone who came out. Here is a not so short preview!

I absolutely adore Matt and Erica! First, they were married on the same weekend that Mike and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary. It was so much fun to witness two people so in love commit themselves to one another at the same time remembering the commitment that I had made to my husband ten year earlier. When you are in the moment of your wedding it is hard to image that ten years later you can love that same person more completely, more wholly and more deeply than you do on that day. Hearing Matt and Erica exchange vows and declare their love and commitment to one another was a reminder to me that marriage is a sacred act that should always receive top priority. Take care of each other Matt and Erica, cherish your marriage and protect your relationship. I look forward to meeting up again in 10 years and hearing all about it.
Matt and Erica’s wedding day was truly a celebration. Erica was by far the most calm and relaxed bride I have ever had the honor of working with. Everything about the day was taken care of, stress free. The groom and ALL, yes ALL, the men were at the cathedral dressed and ready before we were suppose to start pictures. That NEVER happens! The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, the words genuine and the celebration fabulous. Everyone there was celebrating with them. I have never seen a dance floor so full the entire night. I was a blessing. Matt and Erica, know that you have some of the best family and friends there is. Hold them close and remember they will be there for you always. Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph this day for you. It was truly an honor. Enjoy!

I have had the honor of knowing Maggie and her parents now for the past 2 years. Maggie is an amazing little girl, so full of life and love. Maggie has taught me so much over the past two years that I can only hope that I have impacted her life as greatly as she has impacted mine. Maggie and her wonderful mother, Alicia, have taught me that dedication, hard work and the spirit that you can do anything will take you a long way in this life. Maggie is an amazing little girl who I look forward to watching grow up over the next several years. I hope someday you have the privileged of meeting her!

Today is World Autism Awareness Day. Autism is a complex neurological disorder characterized by social impairments, communication difficulties and restricted, repetitive and stereotyped patterns of behavior. Autism is a spectrum disorder-no two people with autism are exactly the same. Autism affects 1 in every 110 children and occurs in all ethnic and socioeconomic groups. The cause of autism is unknown and there is no cure.
I have had the honor of knowing and working with several children with autism over the past ten years. These children have changed the way that I view the world. I would venture to say that they have taught me much more than I have them. I have learned to slow down and notice the small details of life, to treasure those details and the beauty of the world around me. I have learned that there is so much more to a person than the clothes they wear, the work they do or the words they say. It is amazing what can happen when we display a little bit of patience, understanding and compassion. I have found that these children and those who love them well help to restore my faith in humanity. I am better because of these children.
Over the past three years I have discovered that outside of my children and family I am passionate about two things…photography and autism. This month I have the opportunity and honor to allow these two passions to collide. This month, in gratitude to all those children who have changed my life, I am offering a FREE 30-minute session to any child with ASD. For the session, I will either come to your home or we can go to a local park. The session will focus on your little miracle. I will capture them just being who they are. I have finally arrived…the new website is up and running and the blog has been created! 2011 watch out!
2010 seemed like a whirlwind. The business took off faster than I ever dreamed possible. The year was incredible, more than I ever imagined when I began to pursue this little dream of mine. Over this past year I have had the honor to meet people and witness moments that will forever impact my life. In 2010, Jenn Clark Photography had 82 sessions, traveled over 3000 miles, and edited over 15,000 images (don’t even ask how many we took!). I began the year with newborns galore, seemed to chase little feet most of spring, packed the summer with seniors and weddings, and ended the year with an abundance of families. Through all of it there was never a moment that I didn’t feel absolutely alive behind the camera. As I looked back over the year and pulled images for the website and blog, there were moments remembered that brought smiles, tears and even laughter. I have felt so honored to be allowed to capture these moments with the quick release of the shutter. I hope that each and every one of my clients can look back at their images and also remember those treasured moments.
The reason for the success in 2010 does not rest solely on my shoulders. I am so very thankful for my husband Mike, who is my everything. From my listening ear, to my problem solver, to my biggest fan and favorite second shooter, to my best friend. Jenn Clark Photography would have fallen flat on its face long ago had Mike not been a part of it all. I have my boys, Samuel and Liam, to thank. You are both incredible little boys. Your passion for life, enthusiasm and stubbornness to get things done your way are traits I wish to carry into this business. You are the reason I started taking pictures. Capturing your life was what I was made to do.
I won’t even pretend to be able to thank everyone who deserves it so a broad thank you, thank you, thank you to my family, friends, fans, and clients will have to do. Thanks so much for hanging in there with me, for visiting the website and following along through Facebook.
2011 promises to be another great year. I hope to see you all on the other side!
