I met Adri over a year ago when we met for a wedding consult.  After talking with her over coffee and listening to all the plans she had for her big day I kept my fingers crossed that she would choose me to document her day.  Several months later I met Eric during their engagement session.  We had a blast exploring around Pokegon State Park.   Adri and Eric are one of those couples when you witness them together you know that they have each found their sole mate.  They adore one another and are truly in love.

Adri and Eric planned their wedding day to reflect themselves individually and as a couple.  The location, Mill Creek Barns in Watervliet, Michigan was the perfect backdrop to their day.  After raining nearly the entire morning, the sky cleared up for their first look and stayed clear throughout the ceremony.  The details of the day made their wedding unique and personal to them.  Instead of a unity candle they re potted two individual plants into one representing the unity and commitment they have to growing together.  One thing that stuck with me from our engagement session was a comment that Eric made to Adri when they met.  He said that he did not have a very good smile and that she would need to teach him how to smile.  I don’t think it was a tough role for Adri.  Her beauty, grace and love for Eric is enough.

I only wish the absolute best for Adri and Eric as they venture down the road of life together. I hope that these images remind them of their wedding day and the commitment and promise they made to one another.  Hold one another close, remember the little moments and love one another well.  Thank you so much Adri and Eric, it was truly my honor.

I absolutely adore Matt and Erica!  First, they were married on the same weekend that Mike and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary.  It was so much fun to witness two people so in love commit themselves to one another at the same time remembering the commitment that I had made to my husband ten year earlier.  When you are in the moment of your wedding it is hard to image that ten years later you can love that same person more completely, more wholly and more deeply than you do on that day.  Hearing Matt and Erica exchange vows and declare their love and commitment to one another was a reminder to me that marriage is a sacred act that should always receive top priority.  Take care of each other Matt and Erica, cherish your marriage and protect your relationship.  I look forward to meeting up again in 10 years and hearing all about it.

Matt and Erica’s wedding day was truly a celebration.  Erica was by far the most calm and relaxed bride I have ever had the honor of working with.  Everything about the day was taken care of, stress free.  The groom and ALL, yes ALL, the men were at the cathedral dressed and ready before we were suppose to start pictures.  That NEVER happens!  The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, the words genuine and the celebration fabulous.  Everyone there was celebrating with them.  I have never seen a dance floor so full the entire night.  I was a blessing.  Matt and Erica, know that you have some of the best family and friends there is.  Hold them close and remember they will be there for you always.  Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph this day for you.  It was truly an honor.  Enjoy!

Being asked to capture moments is always an honor, especially when it is a wedding.  Although I don’t love the long hours and the amount of post processing, I truly love capturing a wedding day.  There is something so impactful about the day.  The excitement and love that is in the air, the promise that two people make to one another and the celebration that all their close family and friends get to partake in marks the wedding day like no other.  Mike and Amy’s wedding day was no different.  From conversations about Taco Bell and Mt. Dew when the girls were getting ready, to the exchange of vows, to the grand entrance into the reception, to the quiet moments they could look at each other and know they had just married their best friend.  These moments are such an honor to capture for people.  I only hope that the images they look through five, ten and fifty years from now bring them back to the excitement and love that filled the air that beautiful July evening.  Congrats Mike and Amy. Thanks so much for letting me share your day with you.
